Virtual Commissionings at Machinery Partner: What Happens and What to Expect

When you buy a machine from Machinery Partner, commissioning is your starting point. It’s how we help you get set up, teach you how to run your machine safely, and start producing with confidence. All our machines come with a virtual commissioning and some machines also qualify for an in-person session based on machine complexity. Your sales representative will confirm with you what kind of commissioning is included with your machine purchase.
Here’s what to expect from a virtual commissioning, how it works, and why this approach gives you a faster start with your heavy machinery and a better long-term experience.
What is a Virtual Commissioning?
A virtual commissioning is a live online session with one of our technical experts. It includes:
- A step-by-step walkthrough of your machine
- Safe startup and shutdown instructions
- Interactive Q&A
- Lifetime access to training videos
- Digital documentation and quick start guides
- Remote troubleshooting support
Before the session, you’ll get a tailored Quick Start Guide. For example, Olnova Model 5 customers receive a PDF with startup and shutdown procedures, safety checks, remote pairing, and belt adjustment instructions all in one place.

Zak, one of our tech leads, summed it up:
“Instead of flipping through a hundred pages, customers get a single guide with everything they need to know. It’s clear, fast, and helps you run the machine safely right away.”
Why Start with Virtual?
Virtual commissionings let you get to work sooner. In most cases, you’ll be up and running within a couple of days of your machine being delivered.
Customers who go through the virtual process before an in-person visit are already producing material. That changes the value of the in-person session. It becomes focused on optimizing your setup, not explaining the basics.
“By the time we get there, they’ve already been running the machine. They have better questions, and we can use that time to fine-tune their process,” said Zak.

What Happens in an In-Person Commissioning?
For machines that qualify, in-person commissioning includes:
- On-site setup and tuning
- Hands-on training with your crew
- Adjustments to match your exact product needs
We’ll work with the material on your site so everything is customized to the work you’re doing. If you don’t have material available yet, let your rep know. We’ll schedule your session when the timing is right.

Can I Add In-Person Commissioning?
Yes. If your machine didn’t come with an in-person commissioning, you can add it for an extra fee. Your Machinery Partner sales rep will tell you what’s included with your purchase and help you book additional support if needed.
What You’ll Receive
Whether you’re doing virtual only or both sessions, here’s what’s included:
- Digital quick start guide for your machine
- Live video walkthrough with a Machinery Partner tech
- Step-by-step startup and shutdown training
- Maintenance and service guidance
- Q&A and troubleshooting help
- Support that continues after your session

Why Choose a Virtual Commissioning
Virtual commissioning helps you start faster. Instead of waiting for a tech to arrive, you can begin producing as soon as the machine lands. If you qualify for in-person support, that visit becomes even more valuable because it’s focused on fine-tuning, not just day-one setup.
If you're getting ready for delivery or need to talk through your commissioning options, connect with your sales rep. We'll make sure you're supported from the moment your machine arrives.
